PASADENA, Calif. – Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited the victims of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, making a surprise appearance at a food bank and evacuation center in Pasadena, Calif., on Friday.

The royal couple distributed meals at the Pasadena Convention Center, which is used as an evacuation center for those affected by the deadly fires, and donated supplies.

Alongside World Central Kitchen founder Jose Andres and Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo, Harry and Meghan comforted the fire victims, FOX 11 reported.

Data released on Monday by the DTI show that filings reached 873,555 in number, more than the 846,714 recorded from January to September of last year.

“It’s great people, great personalities and great heart for them to come out here and meet with the first responders, meet with the people who were affected,” Gordo said. “It’s very important.”

The couple also visited LA County firefighters and police at the command post at the Rose Bowl and “they really buoyed the spirits of the first responders,” he added.
